In the summer of 1965, I attended Young Life camp at Malibu, Canada, with a great group of girls from Las Lomas.  I was asked to stay on work crew for the month of July.  It was during that month that I met Bill Lundquist, Del Valle class of ’66, who was also on work crew.   I also committed my life to Jesus Christ as my personal Savior that summer.  Three years later I fell in love with Bill while we were both attending Chico State College.  June 13th of 2016 we will be married 46 years.  We raised our two children and lived in Siskiyou County for 28 years.  We moved to the Sacramento area nine years ago to be close to aging parents, children, and grandchildren.  We have six beautiful and very smart grandchildren. Bill and I have retired from careers in Education and enjoy traveling, hiking, and gardening and serving our church and community.

I loved those four years at Las Lomas.  So many great memories. Could it really be 50+ years since we were “twisting” at our first high school dance, wearing shorts under our skirts because girls were not allowed to wear shorts to school, learning to cook and sew at school, hanging out at our lockers because there was a cute boy coming down the corridor, screaming our heads off with Janice Kanewski, Linda Snyder, and Linda Queenan ( so sorry for her passing) at games with the “Spirit Bottle” not really understanding all the rules of the games but loved cheering for the guys and being  shocked that Tom Mason was our “Knight”.  Just a few of the memories of all the great classmates from 1966.
