After high school I went to UC Berkeley and following graduation I worked on a cargo ship to the Philippines. Then started hitchhiking to South America. I ran out of money on the lower slopes of a volcano on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. I still do live here, in business as a farmer exporting exotic plants to the USA and Europe. Along the way I have been involved in more ventures than I can count.
My passion is nature, its study, conservation and enjoyment. My wife and I have a cloud forest and a tropical rainforest reserve. This is its website: lasbrisasreserve.com. There you see a video of my daughter climbing a ladder into the forest canopy. After working for a high tech startup in Germany and then Apple in California, she and her German husband moved to Costa Rica and are expecting a baby girl. Hurray!
